Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the field of computer science focused on creating machines and software that can perform tasks that normally require human intelligence.

In plain terms: AI is about teaching computers how to think, learn, and make decisions, or at least act like they do.

What can AI do?

• AI systems can be designed to:
  • Learn from data (recognize patterns and improve over time)
  • Understand language (speech recognition, translation, chatbots)
  • See and hear (image recognition, facial recognition)
  • Reason and decide (recommendations, planning, game-playing)
  • Create (write text, generate images, compose music)

Common types of AI

• Narrow AI (Weak AI):- Built for a specific task. This is the AI we use today.
  Examples: voice assistants, recommendation systems, spam filters.
• General AI (Strong AI):- A theoretical form of AI that can understand and learn any intellectual task a human can.

How does AI work?

• Most modern AI relies on:
  • Data (lots of it)
  • Algorithms (rules and math)
  • Machine learning (systems that learn from examples instead of being explicitly programmed)
  • Neural networks (models inspired by the human brain)
