Safety Protocols & Procedures are rules and actions followed in a workplace (especially hotels, kitchens, housekeeping, and service areas) to ensure the safety, health, and protection of staff and guests. These protocols help prevent accidents, injuries, fire hazards, contamination, and emergencies.

  • Personal Safety Protocols:
    • Wear proper PPE (gloves, mask, apron, safety shoes).
    • Wash and sanitize hands frequently.
    • Avoid running in work areas.
    • Lift heavy items using correct body posture.
    • Report injuries or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Fire Safety Protocols:
    • Know the location of fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, and emergency exits.
    • Do not overload electrical sockets.
    • Turn off gas and electrical equipment after use.
    • Follow the evacuation plan during fire emergencies (Do not use lifts).
  • Food Safety Protocols (For Kitchen & F&B):
    • Store food at correct temperatures.
    • Keep raw and cooked food separate.
    • Maintain clean utensils, chopping boards, and working stations.
    • Avoid cross-contamination.
    • Follow regular cleaning and sanitization schedules.
  • Chemical Safety Protocols (Housekeeping):
    • Read labels before using chemicals.
    • Do not mix chemicals like bleach and acid.
    • Wear gloves and masks while handling chemicals.
    • Store chemicals in proper cupboards.
    • Follow MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) guidelines.
  • Equipment & Machine Safety:
    • Use equipment only after proper training.
    • Check for damages before use.
    • Turn off equipment after work.
    • Keep hands away from hot surfaces and moving parts.
  • Emergency Response Procedures:
    • Know emergency contact numbers.
    • Provide first aid for minor injuries (if trained).
    • Help in guest evacuation during emergencies.
    • Stay calm and follow supervisor instructions.
